| TUZI |

_______________________________________ the capital town of the Malėsia e Madhe region
Tuz or Tuzi, is a town in the Podgorica district of Montenegro. Tuzi is also the town center for the Malėsori Albanians of Montenegro, and is the capital town of the Malėsia e Madhe region within Podgorica. Malėsia e Madhe (Montenegro) is made up of tribes from Hot, Grudė, Triesh, Kojė, and Fundinė. In 1913, these tribes were split apart from Albania by the Great Powers of Europe and were given to Montenegro. The larger portion of Malėsia e Madhe remains in Albania today, as the smaller part remains in Monetengro. The town dates back to the times of the Illyrian Empire. Tuzi was apart of the Ottoman Empire until the uprising of the Malėsori people by it's Leader from Hoti, Dedė Gjon Luli Dedvukaj, in 1911. Dedė Gjon Luli lead the first Albanian revolt in Tuzi since the time of Gjergj Kastrioti, in 1444. Today, Tuzi has a population of around 12,000 inhabits, which is most entirely of Albanian origin. The people that are born or live in Tuzi are called Tuzjan. Religion in Tuzi is made up of 60% Roman Catholics and 40% Muslims. Tuzi today has only one Middle and High School. The Albanians of Tuzi today are revolting for self-regionalizm of Malėsia (to not be apart of Podgorica anymore), they are demanding an Albanian region with its own University in the Albanian language.
